  • What do I need to know about podiatry?

  • I'm new to Craig Hughes Podiatry. What paperwork will I need to fill out upon arrival?

    Before you see Craig at your first consultation, you will be required to fill out a form. The new patient details form allows us to build a profile of your podiatric history and better service your foot care needs. Please bring a list of any relevant medications and be sure to arrive at least five minutes prior to your appointment.

  • Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?

    If you are under an Enhance Primary Care plan, you will need to bring a signed Medicare referral from your doctor.


    If you have access to NDIS funding, you will need a referral from your case manager.


    Yes, if you are a returned service veteran and member of the Department of Veterans Affairs seeking service through your Gold or White Card.


    If you are under workers’ compensation or third party insurance, you will need a letter from your insurer or case manager.

  • What should I bring to my appointment?

    Any recent X-rays and/or tests relating to your problem.


    Any footwear or devices you’re currently wearing that relate to your problem that will assist the diagnosis.


    Any paperwork given to you by a referring doctor, health care professional or case manager.

  • Does medicare cover podiatry?

    Only if you are under an Enhanced Primary Care program initiated by your doctor, which can allow you up to five visits per year.

  • I've injured myself; will the podiatrist arrange an x-ray?

    If an X-ray, ultrasound, or any other testing is necessary, Craig can provide the referral. However, if you are experiencing severe pain, we advise you to visit your local GP or head straight to the hospital for immediate medical attention.
